Eye yoga is not just a set of specific exercises. It is a real complex of actions, the main task of which is to help a person know themselves and change on the physical, as well as spiritual level. Continuing the series of articles about yoga for health , we will talk about this in more detail.
Features of Yoga for Vision
Thus, displacement of the vertebrae, caused, for example, by too strong loads on the spine, can lead to impaired vision, as well as banal overwork.
What else hinders the normal functioning of the eyes?
- Anger. Every time a person experiences this negative emotion, he loses energy. And the more often this happens, the stronger and faster it flows away.
- Envy. Even a little envy or a sideways glance at another can damage a person’s energy state. And if we are talking about constant, incessant envy, then the loss of energy occurs constantly.
- The desire to constantly receive new things and emotions. New emotions in themselves are not so bad, however, if they do not interfere with considering the true, most important thing. If the flickering of “life’s colors” comes to the fore, this leads to a strong loss of energy.
- Unrestrained lifestyle. The more a person indulges in sexual fantasies, the more energy he loses. As a result, his body malfunctions, and this is also reflected in vision.
Exercises to Improve Vision
There are several practices included in the set of gymnastics for the eyes.
- Palming - this practice helps the student achieve the necessary internal mood. The recommended number of repetitions is at least 2 times a day: sit in a comfortable position; cover your eyes with cupped palms, there should be no pressure on the eyes, they should open and close without obstacles; elbows should be standing so that the hands are relaxed.
- Nose as a pen - this exercise prevents pinching of the cervical vertebrae and reduces the risk of glaucoma: sit comfortably and close your eyes; imagine that your nose is a pen; write in large letters for 10 minutes, it is important to imagine what exactly you are writing.
- Side to side - improving concentration and developing muscles located around the eyeballs - this is what helps to develop this practice: sit with your legs straight, your back should be straight; hands perpendicular to the back; straighten your arms clenched into a fist with your thumb raised; raise your hands so that they are visible with peripheral vision; without turning your head, look at your left finger, then between your eyebrows, then at your right finger and again between your eyebrows; repeat 10 times.
- Circular rotations - this asana helps to overcome myopia. The recommended number of repetitions is at least 2 times a day: the pose remains from the previous exercise; looking at your thumb, make a circular motion with your hand; the same with the other hand; then counterclockwise.
- Nasikagra Drishti in nature - a similar exercise helps to combat farsightedness. It is noteworthy that it should be performed outdoors, in a fairly calm, secluded place: look at the tip of your nose for 5 seconds; then look into the distance; repeat 10-15 times.
- Full circle - this exercise can improve visual perception and relieve general overstrain of the eyeball: without concentrating your gaze, make a rotation clockwise; then look ahead; repeat counterclockwise; total number 10 times.
- Opposites - this practice is general strengthening, therefore it is recommended to finish the exercises with it: concentrate on two objects distant from each other, but visible without turning your head; slowly move your gaze from the top of one to the base of the other object; change objects and directions of gaze; several cycles each time.
By the way, the asana Shavasana, although included in the complex of yoga exercises for the eyes, does not perform a training role in it. This practice helps to calm down and fully feel the harmony with the world and with oneself. In turn, Shirshasana helps to clarify the mind and restore the work of the senses. However, it is better to perform it under the supervision of an instructor.

I have been doing eye exercises for a long time and I noticed that even working a lot at the computer, my vision remains the same as it was, it doesn't decrease. Eye yoga perfectly relieves tension and sometimes even headaches.

Yoga is a wonderful medicine for both the spiritual body and the physical body. A person starts to see worse for many reasons. Both pressure and osteochondrosis and depending on the type of work. After yoga and special gymnastics, vision improves. With my work, my eyes are constantly tense, and doing gymnastics, my eyes rest more and recover faster.
