Amalaki Vrata Ekadashi Post

Amalaki Vrata Ekadashi is observed in the month of Phalguna.

Legend

In ancient times, there existed a great kingdom where there were no poor or sick. Everyone lived in abundance and good health because everyone pursued their own work and devoutly worshipped the supreme deity. The king, who was revered and loved, oversaw all this. Also, the entire kingdom, without exception, observed the sacred days of Ekadashi fasts.During one such fast, called Amalaki Vrata Ekadashi, the entire kingdom observed it according to all the rules and chanted the glory of the supreme lord all night in the temple. At that time, a sinful hunter, who supported himself and his family only by killing defenseless animals, passed by this temple. He became curious about what was happening here, so he entered the temple. The hunter had not eaten anything and was very tired, but the chanting to the deity captivated him, and he remained in the temple all night. Only in the morning, when the king and all his subjects dispersed, did he go home.In due course, this hunter died a natural death, but instead of suffering torment on hellish planets for his sins, he was reborn as a great king. And all this is because on that very night in the temple he unknowingly observed the sacred fast.
