Legend
In a great kingdom lived many demigod singers and songstresses. Among them were a husband and wife who loved each other very much and could not live a moment without thinking of their beloved half.Once the king of this kingdom decided to hold a feast and invited everyone. It so happened that the wife could not go with her husband. Because of this, the husband could not sing well, and all the time went out of rhythm. The king’s servants knew about this and complained to him that this singer was thinking about his wife, not about his ruler. The king, hearing this, became angry, and immediately cursed the singer to become a man-eating demon. At that very moment, the husband turned into a terrible creature. His wife, learning about this and seeing what her husband had become, was very saddened. She did not know what to do and aimlessly wandered through deserted places with the demon, who had already begun to lose his mind and behave like a real cannibal. So she wandered to a hill where a sacred sage was sitting. The wife told about her grief and asked for advice on how she could free her husband from the curse. To which the sage replied that she should observe the sacred Kamada Ekadashi and transfer all the merit from observing the fast to her husband. So she did, and as soon as Ekadashi ended, her husband turned back into a beautiful demigod singer.
