Diet and Lifestyle for Kapha Dosha

According to the ancient Indian teaching Ayurveda , the vital energy Kapha dosha governs the metabolism in the body. This type of dosha (there are also Vata and Pitta ), is characterized by stability, constancy and slowness. This is necessary so that metabolic processes do not fail, but bring health, joy and harmony.

Description

Kapha dosha is the nourishing human energy that comes to him from the beneficial properties of the water and earth elements, which are closely interconnected. Creating and maintaining the substances of the organism, kapha dosha not only influences the formation of its tissue mass, but also influences the emotionality of the individual, controlling a number of positive qualities, including love, mercy, good nature, condescension and regret. The main concentration of kapha is the stomach. However, five kaphas are distinguished in the body:

  • Tarpaka - concentrated at the head level;
  • Bodhaka - mouth, tongue;
  • Avalambaka - chest;
  • Kledaka - abdomen;
  • Sleshaka - joints. The description of kapha dosha varies both in appearance and in certain character traits. They are usually of large build with good physical abilities, with a wide round face, on which large blue or light brown eyes and thick eyelashes, a large mouth with puffy lips.
    The main problem of Kapha dosha people is overweight, which is usually difficult to combat.
    As for the peculiarities of character, people of the kapha type are distinguished by ambiguity, a combination of positive and negative traits. But, mainly, representatives of the kapha constitution are dominated by:
  • kindness;
  • understanding;
  • nobility;
  • composure in difficult situations.
    Representatives of this dosha need to constantly worry about the formation of their morals and spiritual qualities, so that their visible balance, calmness, adequacy and thoughtfulness of actions do not transform into negative character traits.
    In nutrition and lifestyle, Kapha dosha should constantly adhere to the recommendations characteristic of their type. Because any imbalance leads to negative results.

Nutrition

When eating kapha dosha, you should not forget about mucus. It is usually formed in excess with constant overeating. Therefore, it is important for them not to refuse a diet. Otherwise, a weight problem is guaranteed. You should eat twice a day. Moreover, breakfast should be late, and dinner - early (no less than 3 hours before bedtime) and consist of light products. After eating, you should not immediately rest, but it is better to take a walk for a while.

Diet

For a kapha diet, fresh fruits will be useful. One day a week should be devoted to unloading (eating fresh vegetables, vegetable soup, fruit juice). But fried, fatty, watery food, yeast bread, pastries, alcohol are not perceived.

Lifestyle

Regarding the lifestyle of kapha dosha, one should get up early and go to bed early. At the same time, it is better not to rest during the day. Dress according to the season, but so as not to freeze (kapha dosha people are susceptible to cold). It is especially important to protect the ears, nose, throat, and lungs.

Passivity is not suitable for Kapha dosha. Every day begins with an early rise, physical education, a shower and herbal tea for breakfast.
From sports activities, kapha dosha will be useful:

  • weightlifting;
  • martial arts;
  • rowing;
  • aerobics;
  • it is also good to be fond of dancing. Yoga for kapha dosha involves the use of poses that have a stimulating and warming effect. Asanas that help open the chest and stretch the abdomen are especially useful, since kapha dosha is mainly concentrated in these places.
    Sports and physical activity are constant companions of Kapha representatives in Ayurveda.

Imbalance

Imbalance of kapha dosha usually causes the development of:

  • colds;
  • heart;
  • skin pathologies;
  • asthma;
  • allergies;
  • diabetes;
  • hypertension and other serious ailments. Its excess:
  • negatively affects mobility;
  • reduces digestive activity;
  • causes drowsiness;
  • excessive sweating;
  • pallor of the skin. In both cases, measures must be taken:
  • with an excess of fluid, diuretics are taken, they go on a diet, take measures to stimulate sweating - these measures will help solve problems with lymphostasis, bronchitis and even asthma;
  • natural emetic and laxative remedies will help solve the problem with digestion, cleanse the intestines;
  • in case of disorders, it is necessary to wear gold or copper jewelry, talismans decorated with red and yellow precious stones, which carry such a missing energy of fire.
    Restoring the balance of kapha, Ayurveda suggests paying attention to its main characteristics. It is cold, heavy, calm and moist, which means that the measures used should be warming, lightening, stimulating and drying.
