Legend
Once upon a time, there lived a woman who sincerely worshipped Krishna and sang his praises at every opportunity. Observing all the strict fasts, her body became emaciated and weak. She generously gave alms and even wanted to donate her house, but she never gave food to Brahmins and demigods.Surprised by this peculiarity, Krishna descended to earth, taking on a worldly form. He came to this woman and asked for alms, but the woman angrily threw a piece of dirt into his begging bowl. After that, Krishna returned to his abode.Due to her merits on earth, this woman attained the spiritual world, where she was given a wonderful house. But this house was empty, without furniture and food. In anger, she came to Krishna and asked why her house was empty, since she had given so much for his service and enlightenment. To which God told her to return to her house and when the wives of the demigods came to visit her, not to open the door to them until they told her about the importance of observing Shat-tila Ekadashi. The woman did so.Only after she heard about the importance of observing this Ekadashi and began to observe it did furniture and food appear in her house.
